: The core of my problem is this. As soon I get up enough courage to TRY a pun, someone comes in and beats me to it. It's a constant issue with me. I don't know how to be funny enough, fast enough keep it up long enough to compete with these other truly FUNNY guys. You guys were gonad it so quick that I couldn't keep up. Each time I came up with a perfect shot, someone stole the ball. Funny, I kept thinking, 'how long will this hold out?', knowing it was a church board and stuff, wondering how far this would stretch, knowing the topic at hand. Plus, we started with a holy act like circumcision and then were basically making penis puns. I thought, 'how irreverent' but then I realized there must be a vas deferens between humor and propriety. I'm trying to be more relaxed lately, since people tell me not to be so rigid. Yet the more natural a pun seemed to me, the less I was sure I could post it on this board. Not that I'm calling you a bunch of stiffies. Besides, once I had all my nuts in a sack, some other squirrel would come and steal the whole load: shaft for instance. And then you all performed with more bravado than I could have, even if I had been as well endowed with your sense of humor. Thanks for letting me be honest about this issue of mine. I just wanted to pull back the layers and reveal what was lying underneath. No matter which way you slice it, I just don't think I'll ever cut it in the world of humor and puns. I hope I didn't seem analytical.
OK, Bill. You are officially acknowledged and validated by me. You have as inappropriate a sense of humor as the rest of us. ;-)
