: Hebrews 12:1 doesn't mention saints interceding; it rather portrays the saints as examples (witnesses) to us of true faith (covered in the preceding chapter of Hebrews). It is Jesus who is the author and perfector of our faith.

: Hebrews 12:1-2
: 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
: 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

: And later in the same chapter:

: Hebrews 12:22-24
: 22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,
: 23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect,
: 24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

~
: There is no scripture in the canonical texts about Mary or the saints mediating or interceding for us. The canonical texts state that Christ is the only "mediator." This is true because Christ alone paid the ransom to procure this power. The canonical texts also speak about the Holy Spirit "interceding" for us. The doctrines of saints interceding and Mary mediating originate elsewhere.

: 1 Timothy 2:5-6
: 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
: 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all men--the testimony given in its proper time.

: Hebrews 9:15
: For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

~Your right, I didn't look at the scripture at the time.
OK, does this mean I'm not allowed to come to pu this coming Sunday?
