Can I use html tags anywhere in my posts?
You can use HTML tags in the body of the message only.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?
Colons appear in the message dialog box to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.
Why didn't my post show up?
Your post probably didn't show up because your browser did not reload the page. Please hit the "reload" or "refresh" button on your browser's toolbar and your post should then appear.
Why did my post show up fifteen times?
You probably did not see your first post appear, so you tried to post it again (and again and again and again). Your first post did not show up because your browser did not reload the page. It was really there right after you posted it; you just couldn't see it. You must hit the "reload" or "refresh" button on your browser's toolbar for your post to appear. Otherwise, you won't see it until you log back on and your browser reloads. Then you'll see your message - right below the other fourteen times you re-posted it in desperation.
How can I remove fourteen of the fifteen posts?
You can't. But the can. If you'll send him a email explaining that you feel like so much brain death, this helpful person will have mercy on you and remove the extras. What a guy...
Why can't I post without including my email address?
People who post anonymously tend to be a bit rude and overly critical sometimes. If a poster's identity is not a secret, he or she will usually try harder to be courteous.
What if I just type "Mickey Mouse" in the email field?
Walt wouldn't like it. It's such a mickey mouse thing to do.
There's no way we can make a poster put their correct email address. But the poster's IP address is always recorded for us to see. So if they did not play nicely with the other posters, and we found it necessary, we could block them automatically using their IP address to prevent them from posting any more.
Where can I get the scripts for this message board program?
The program is called WWWBoard II. The scripts are
written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. They are free to anyone
who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at:
http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/.
Enjoy!
