Don't know about your intestinal discernment (that's hard to stomach), but hopefully you have realized by now that this "gospel" is not in harmony with the teachings of Jesus in the gospels we recognize. The Gospel of Thomas (certainly not written by Thomas Didymus the disciple) also has a very late date, generally thought to be about mid-second century. This "gospel" was used by Gnostics to reconcile Gnostic doctrines with those of Jesus; to rewrite history to make Jesus a Gnostic. 'Nuff said...
I wouldn't spend your time on this. More important for us to learn truth now than explore all the perversions of it. :-)
