In Curitiba, where I would like to visit/live(?) one day, they have several Faróis do Saber, or Lighthouses of Knowledge. These Faróis do Saber are actually combinations of lighthouses and libraries. They are inspired by the great library of Alexandria, Egypt. They have become symbols of the city of Curitiba. Each farol do saber is named after someone famous who has helped the world through their knowledge. Some of these people are known to people outside Brasil:
Farol do saber Pablo Neruda
Farol do saber Gibran Khalil
Farol do saber Săo Pedro e Săo Paulo
Farol do saber Albert Einstein.
Farol do saber Biblioteca Victor Hugo
These are just a few of the many faróis do saber that exist in Curitiba as beacons of knowledge for all.
" We go to raise the city having books for weapons and lighthouses for sentries. "
