Okay, I need the aid of John Vaughn and Steve and whoever else is scientifically inclined. During my early, very fundamentally creationist, scientific education, I came up with the idea that the earth was originally one land mass that was split in two during the flood. I also came up with the idea that the Bermuda Triangle was actually the site of the Garden of Eden, but that's another story...
I was just reading Genesis, and after the flood, it goes through the lineage. Gen 10:25 stopped me short, because it says, "Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided."
I could assume that it's referring to the Babel incident, but I just wondered briefly if it was referring to the continental split. Anyone wanna clue me in? What's the scientific theory? I'm serious when I say that my early education was incredibly creationistic.
