The neat thing is by getting your mind off your own inner conflicts, you will begin to see them resolved.

Notice I did not say that by getting your mind off yourself you will have all problems instantly solved. The thing is that you will BEGIN TO SEE resolution of a sort. You might have to lose alot of conceptions of yourself in the process. This won't be easy or fun all the time. Remember this if the road ahead gets hard, but remember also that you are going to get new legs to walk it. You might get strange new legs, you might have to use wheels instead or suction cups to walk up walls. You might have to become a strange fly or lobster or slimy eel to navigate correctly, but that's o.k. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE UP YOUR GOAL of reaching out to others. You are going to rise up out of your conception of life to allow for others. You will find that you don't proceed from yourself. You will see that you weren't made for yourself. You will continue to actively unite yourself to God and others through whatever strange ways he will provide, but you will not assume that this is going to make everything peachy. Your resolution won't necessarily be a comfortable one. It might even be a cross, but you are going forward confident that if you share in Christ's suffering, you will most definitely also share in his Glory. Still, his glory is not a condition of your choice to walk. You just walk in hope, yes, in confidence, yes, but not making conditions. You can't do that.
