Today I feel confused and broken. My head is somewhere between Cardinal Newman and Plato's SYMPOSIUM, my conscience is in a Walker Percy or Evelyn Waugh novel, my heart is on the first page of FRANKENSTEIN and all over WOMEN IN LOVE. My soundtrack is inevitably and at top speed THE CURE. Also, it is painful seeing your whole world demolished. Still, there is something in me, something that is one part FIGHT CLUB, one part HEATHERS, and one part DONNIE DARKO, that says, let it all come crumbling down. Somewhere in this demolition I will find what really is. What I think I had needs to be lost entirely. So, although I'm confused and wracked w moral and theological pain, I'm spiritually quite nourished, by the NUMINOUS and I'm really doing o.k. I just feel like I've spent the afternoon in an iron maiden.
