O.K. I have finally come to some peace about this....and I have to admit, that I'm well, gaudy! The more I try to make my house over into some kind of simple, sleek, modern temple of purity, the more I realize that it's extremely gaudy and full of all kinds of different things. I used to feel like I had to hide this side of me. I used to feel like I was just too out there and odd. Tonight I was reading some Hundertwasser quotes on art, and also some Sister Wendy stuff and I just realized that it's o.k. for me to be gaudy and that I think I should just continue. Later I found out that the root for gaudy was the latin gaudiem, which means joy.
