: : Well, I just wanted to say that I loved the first night of class. I would encourage anyone who wants to learn more to come attend. I think this class will be a great complement to our more focused Sunday bible teaching. We will be studying all kinds of great topics that impact us as people of faith. But you have to come to find out. You will be glad you did.

: You know, as a possible little homework (if I had the time) I could possibly look for info on some of those specific civilizations that arose with the Archaic period, you know like Steve said last nite that all these arose all around the world about that time, and you and I were talking on the way home about that, in India and China; and like Steve mentioned Jericho and the Sumerians and all those in the Middle East, and then also talked about India; and then in the car it dawned on me what about in the New World?

: And then also with all these different tribes setting down into city/states around that time, in distant locations around the world; then as it was kinda mentioned in class, was there perhaps some kind of a similar inspiration from God across cultures, or was it just the natural evolution of humans flowing in that direction, (or was it the Aliens after all??):)

Oh, Aliens for sure. ;-)

Actually I was talking about the Axial Age change in thinking happening around the world concurrently, but you are right that the same concurrency does apply to the Agricultural Revolution and establishment of city-states to a great degree, although the time spread is a bit longer--a few thousand years rather than some 600 years for the Axial Age time period. :-)
