My little doggie Angel has been deteriorating for a few days now, and is in great pain. She cannot walk at all. I asked for prayer that she might last till Cari got home to say goodbye to her, but I cannot now imagine her lasting another 8 days till Cari gets home. She is in so much pain it is heartbreaking, and it is taking more and more pain drugs to keep her numb. I have made the tough but loving decision to let her go now. Cari is heartbroken that she will not be able to say goodbye to Angel. Please pray for Cari!!! Tomorrow at 8 AM (about 5 1/2 hours from now) Angel will go to sleep for good as I hold her in my arms and love her and tell what a good girl she is. I am so sad! I look into her big brown eyes now and just cry. I know this is the right thing to do, but it is ripping me apart. Please pray for me, and Cari, and our little girl Angel. We will see her again and be together forever--of this I am certain. For now, we will have sadness.
This is something I wrote down for Bill a while ago about the spirit of animals returning to God:
Animal Ruach
And below is a powerful little myth that depicts the reunion of an animal and human. It is not important that it is but a myth. The story could not possibly provoke such extreme reactions as it does if if there were not real truth in the parable.

The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
