Hey! Thanks! So cool to hear from you, and I'm sending you some of the recipes I've invented. I'll try to send more in the future. Believe it or not, I cook pretty healthy a lot of the time! I'm trying to memorize some verses, so I can be like Pastor Steve--teehee! And so I'm more prepared to fend off the subtle (and sometimes ridiculously blatant) hints of the dark side. Three of the ones I'm using to gain control of my slavish hand-to-mouth disease are:
II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (So why let that dead guy sleep on the couch! Kick him out! And if he stumbles in, zombie-style, dropping skin on the floor, throw him out again!)
Romans 6:11-14 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. (Thank God for LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of grace!)
Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Sometimes I get tired of fighting it, but God says I shouldn't quit while I'm ahead--even if I don't FEEL ahead.)
And here's one JUST FOR YOU!
II Corinthians 5:13-14 (From The Message) 13 If I acted crazy, I did it for God; if I acted overly serious, I did it for you. 14 Christ's love has moved me to such extremes.
I love you, man! I'm praying for both of us!
