Interesting how fiction doesn't mimic reality as much as it changes the people who make reality. I love Mary Poppins! I always wanted to feed the pigeons after that movie, and of course jump through sidewalk pictures. And I've always wanted to fly, so if laughter could lift us off the ground, I'd never stop! I remember on the Thanksgiving after we moved back to Lakeland, when we were completely broke, I woke up in the morning and Richard said he had a "surprise" for me. All morning, I tried to figure it out, and then he started saying 1 more hour, 20 minutes, 15 minutes...At that point, I knew it must be something on TV, which made sense, since we were broke. He had looked in the TV Guide and found that Mary Poppins was coming on. I sat there with a coloring book, watching Mary Poppins, and knew that he must understand me a little bit. It was totally cool.
