That's really not the point. Even if it was, people carry umbrellas everyday. And rarely do they carry them in good weather. That is the purpose of an umbrella. And this was not a one-time incident. Three people have been hit by lightning on 2 different lightnings strikes.
Also, people get hit by lightning out here in Colorado. When it happens, they mostly die. When they live, you can see the burn where the lightning travelled through their body. For lightning to hit people 3 times and to not have injuries is extremely rare. So this story is very odd.
But all that is really beside the point.
Its just a funny story.
