After that whole post, I realized that you may be right. At least in one sense.

'Intuitive' revelation is not universal. For the general person, you are right to caution them against relying on it. For most people, they will not receive this revelation. And when I think of it, the more tangible revelations that match what you describe as 'an encounter with the Holy' was what I experienced first. I did not receive my other revelations until a later point.

I still don't feel that this is the correct venue for explaining doctrinal beliefs, but this one applies to the questions posed -- We are taught the the kind of subtle revelation I am talking about is only given to those who have been baptized of the Holy Spirit -- had laying on of hands, and a blessing performed by a to grant them this gift of the Spirit. There is more to say about what that blessing is, but to satisfy those of a scriptural bent, look at Acts 1:5,8. I have received that baptism referred to in verse 5. The revelations of which I speak are the power referred to in verse 8.

So for what it is worth -- you are correct. Barring this one exception. :)

With Love,
Bob - the Alien
