On this one, they broke her arm and repositioned it again and then took her index finger, shortened it, flipped it around and created a kind of thumb for that hand. It's quite amazing they can do all of that, isn't it? It will never be a normal hand or arm, but this should give her some functionality in it.

Yes it is amazing what they can do as I have been learning lately.
The kids Great Aunt & Uncle are adopting his cousins baby who was abandoned at 5 weeks and who has Fetal alcohol syndrome. She is 3 I think,but is at the developement level of about 18 months. She was born deaf but they implanted some kind of technology that makes it possible for her to hear now. None of her problems matter - they love her just as if she were their own.
I truly admire them and you for your amazing commitment to your childs improvement to her life!
