It was great reading your post. I really learned alot about The Republic of Cuba. This is just the type of thing I imagined that Marc's idea could spark. The key is that you shared about a place that is becoming real to you, therefore, you can help it become real for us. If you'd ever like to get together w me, I have some great movies we could watch that deal with Cuba. Also, I'm sure there are many movies and documentaries we could rent. Who knows? I'm game. Also, just so you'll know, at Barnes and Noble, we have a few Cuban photoessays on sale now. I can hold them for you if you'd be interested in seeing them. Just let me know.
Thanks again for your great post. The way you felt about Cuba was the way I felt about Curitiba. It was a place that for some reason, opened itself up to me.
Also, I liked Marc's response to your post and his connection to Yoruba and also his comments about the 'darkening' of Cuba after Castro. His remarks made alot of sense.
