: here's a homework assignment:
: Do any of you have a friendship or friendships that you wish were more developed? I have this problem even w my friends from Parallel Universe, some of which I have known for years. It's odd sometimes, even sitting in the same room w some of you, since I know you and you know me, but it doesn't seem like our friendship is going anywhere. No names mentioned, but it's the truth. I am not laying blame on myself or you for this awkwardness. Still, I am hoping that we can push the envelope and make things better. Here's the assignment. This week, take some time and specifically think about your friends and acquaintances-- not just church friends either, but people you might know from work, school, your neighborhood, etc. Then, allow certain people to flow into your mind. Trust that God will be a part of this process and try to be open to his Spirit, then simply give yourself the time to actively contemplate whoever rises into your mind. Make mental notes of who these people are and why you feel that you want to push the envelope on that friendship. Then, ask God to show you creative ways to reach out to that person and do not be afraid to try some things. Also, try to think about people with which you have already struck up some kind of dialogue, but perhaps have not continued to stay in touch with. Allow those people to come into your mind. By actively meditating on these people you will be doing a few things. By contemplating these people with an awareness of God's presence you are at once reintroducing them to yourself and praying for them. Pray for them and for yourself that you will both be more open to God and others. Pray that you can be more aware of ways that God might want you to relate to each other as well. Also, remember to ask God to show you creative ways to reach out to them. Finally, try.
: Later, Bill
How cool! I always hated homework before!
