: : Hello everyone. I'm new here and wondered if anyone has been through what I am going through. Many years ago I met someone who I thought would be IT for me. So did he for a very long time but now has met someone else that seems to have bewitched him. She is leading him away from God. I pray about it all the time and know that I must leave it in God's hands. But does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might do on a more earthly level? Thanks for your help, Sunny
: There is often nothing we really can do, and that is a very hard thing to accept indeed. Leaving things in God's hands is a decision that must be made again every day. Often we give our cares to Him but then take them back very quickly. God knows what he is doing, but we may not understand His wisdom or like His time frame.
: Also, your first desire must be for your friend's relationship with God, before your desire for him to be with you. That can be difficult also, I know...
~~Well said, Steve. That is something I have to keep reminding myself everyday--to keep giving my struggles back to God, since I truly cannot handle them on my own. I personally have a difficult time relinquishing control to the Lord, even when I know that things aren't within my power anyway. I just continue to pray, and ask those in my church family to pray with me and for me. I had someone once tell me that Jesus needed to be, above all, the love of your life. When you put Him first, then the rest will fall into place. Then the desires of your heart will be the desires that He puts there.
