: People tell me I should be happy. That I live a dog's life. So tell me what is so great about a dog's life. I go out when people want me to. Then I have to go where they want me to. I never get to just follow my nose. They put a collor around my neck and yank me around. People pee in my favorite water dish, yet if I pee on the ugly rug I get in trouble. I'm just trying to make it smell better. Then there are fleas, heart worms, and lots of other worms. And lets talk about food. If you won't eat meat by products why make me eat them?

: Next time you are grumbling about going to work remember I am always stuck at home. No, folks it's not a dogs life. It's dog purgatory.

But don't sound so down! Don't you realize that you have the ability to live always in the moment, you play when you are happy, you bark when something bothers you, you sleep when you are tired, you are always welcome to touch someone, and you never have to make a decision that does not directly affect your necessities.

I on the other hand must get up of my own accord to go to a job which I chose to pay bills which I encurred for living in this society which I have chosen to be a part of. What's more I am ever faced with the choice to make a decision that will or will not affect the lives of many other beings including those of dogs, I must determine what is right, what is prudent, what is acceptable in every situation. I am not free to pee on the rug or drink out of the toilet not because someone controls my life but becuase I am trapped by my burden of decision. For God's sake I can't even touch someone without first deciding if it will be percieved in the wrong way and then deciding to what level that touch should extend. Do I pat, punch, hug, kiss, nuzzle, wave, or simply speak? My decision is crucial to all the future interactions between me that person and those who are in the immediate vicinity. Then when you add the exponential facotrs of other people's perceptions, which despite what anyone says every human MUST consider, the weight of every decision is overwhelming! And I CHOSE EVERY BIT OF IT! Why?

I would rather be a dog. You are blessed with a lack of responsibility. I think your reality is far better.
