If your offending people your probably doing something right, and as far as your urgent attitude is concerned...Super! If only more of us had that sense of urgency, all kinds of things would happen!
Drastic changes are a good thing they wake people up from their compacency and apathy, or they make people burrow even deeper into their own psyche in denial and despair. Either way true character is revealed. This I see in my own life. Hopefully it will open a door for God to affect some deep changes to perceptions and values.
He did say like a thief in the night didn't he? In Matthew 24 He seems to be talking about the element of surprise and the fact that if the owner of the house knew someone might break in he would have been prepared.
If that be the case, then aren't we prepared? Those who do not know Him will of course will be surprised. In I Thessalonians 5 Paul says that we are not in darkness so that this day should not surprise us as a thief would.
On one hand I agree with you that it will just kind of blow over before people realize what is happening, on the other my spirit wants to see the Lord pour out his wrath and, come back in glory so that no one should be able to miss it.
