: You guys are the best friends ever! I was a little nervous that the issue might make some mad, but I was on an emotional roller coaster and needed to get it off my chest. I do apologize that I didn't fully understand the facts about which I spoke. I just know that the offering was under $3, and the church has a lot of expenses.

It didn't bother me, I already explained what I am doing/or not doing financially in another post. However, it is much better to hash this stuff out as a family, either here or in a small group or something, then to have sermons about $$$ every week, which has been the case at every church I ever went to except for two.....my childhood church, where it was never mentioned except in board meetings, and the Catholic Church, which seems to thrive on not mentioning tithing. Funny, if you seek an official position they do have one. Tithing for them is like this. There is a guidline. Take 10 percent of your income and and give half to the church and half to the poor. Beyond this there is no official rule, they would just encourage you to find ways you can give whatever you have back to God. It's like it's left to your conscience. Anyway, Cari, all I meant to say was that it's all good. I think most people who have gone to parallel univers/crossover-refuge ministries, wouldn't mind giving a little something, even if it's only now and then. Since I don't make lots of money, I used to give alot of time to people in the church. That's when I had a car though. now I need to get creative. As far as the emotional roller coaster thing, well, that's me all the time.

Lata, Bill
