: : Ooh. Walking sticks. now there is a good idea. A lot less painful, and saves a lot of money. And I don't have to keep it out of the sun.
: : Now why didn't I think of that before?

: exactly, i hate hurting perfectly good skin.

: : It really is a good idea. But who do you mean by 'they'?

: the walking stick people of course....

Walking sitcks are also really cool bugs that camoflage themselves really well. I think they are really fascinating insects.
But, Bill-I think the most difficult thing with getting a tattoo is actually deciding what you want and where. If for no other reason you should get them because you already are past that hurdle.
I used to be really against tattoo's, in fact my ex would get one every so often and I couldn't even look at it until it was completely healed, I would get physically ill.
But my attitude about them has changed alot. Mainly because of being around so many tattooed people. I don't think I would ever get one myself, but I see that as a story telling vehicle they can be a really great communicator. Just imagine the conversations Tim has about the 'original art' art he has on his leg! I think there are ugly tattoos that are pointless and simply meant to shock, to me those are a waste of money and effort. I keep thinking about the permanence of them, it may be cool to your friends to get a half-naked chick making obscene gestures on your forearm, but ten years from now you may have some explaining to do to your 6 year old daughter. My point being that they should be well thought out, and certainly not impulsive. Some are very beautiful and have deep meaning for the owner, and I think it is a valid form of self-expression.
I am still not convinced that God completely approves of them, however, and that's the main reason I wouldn't get one.

Shalom
