This 'rain anomaly' account reminded me of another odd thing that happened to me once when I was still living with Marcos in the Pink Palace (dubbed this way since Kumar pointed out the building was pink). On this particular summer day I walking home from Barnes & Noble down Azeele. I was going East on Azeele between Sterling and Himes, I encountered a postcard on the ground...I just kept walking, but in a few yards I encountered another postcard and then something clicked and I immediately looked ahead of me down the sidewalk and I was amazed at what I saw, every few yards a postcard for as far as the sidewalk stretched, at least as far as Himes. I immediately went back to the first postcard and picked it up. I then collected each one successively wondering if there was any kind of intent of pattern behind these findings. The postcards were from various locations arond the world. I still own them. At this hour I can't dig them out, but I know that they were locations like Puerto Rico, Paris, Rome, etc. I kept picking them up, about a dozen in all, evenly spaced and placed all facing the same direction, as if someone had laid them out only moment sbefore and was waiting to see me pick them up--perhaps chuckling in a bush somewhere. Finally, as I got to the last postcard I looked ahead of me to see if there was another in the road ahead of me and I did not see any, however, there was something else there on the sidewalk. I approached it with a strange and curious anticipation. When I finally got up to it I saw a small book entitled El Principito, the spanish version of The Little Prince, a book I had frequently sold, but never read. Now I owned it. This was such a neat experience. I have no idea what it may hae all been about, but I like to leave it open to mystery. I guess I'm sharing these stories since I feel they are at once mysterious and fun.
