The Great seal of the state of Florida contains an Indian woman scattering flowers, a steamboat, a palm tree and the radiant sun, plus lots of water. These are some of the most common elements of Florida's natural and historical landscape. The Indian woman is a tie-in to Florida's hidden past.

Did you realize that Florida had a state butterfly or wildflower? Did you realize that Florida's favorite festival is the CALLE OCHO? Marcos recently told me about this. Now I know that it is on
Florida's list.
