lately i have heard some talk around alot of my friends about not trusting other friends. well, i'm here to say one thing real quick. i DON'T trust my friends. at least not perfectly. ultimately i know even the closest, most loyal friend can betray me or hurt me. i'm not scared to admit this. it has happened over and over. i just wanted to say that i'm not about to let the fact that i can't trust people keep me from involvement with them. i know that by agreeing to be a part of something alot is at stake and alot can go wrong, but alot can also go right. in fact, it is the norm in this world in which we live to have alot going right inspite of alot going wrong. that is normal. for the christian, whose trust is not in man but god, we have full knowlege that our friend might betray us, but we have an even greater knowledge that god won't. also, we know that even in the case of hurt or pain inflicted by a friend, there is the very real possibity of redemption. i'm saying all this since i feel some of my friends (could i be talking to myself as well?) are dangerously close to giving up on dynamic relationships due to their lack of trust. i feel that this will only lead to stunted growth and regret in the future. some people may feel that they have no place in the body or that they would be rejected if they tried to get invovled. i hope that you won't give up on yourself if you fall in this category. there are too many great things going on right now. we should avail ourselves of them, even if we are only a rag-tag bag of losers. we should avail ourselves of each other too, even if we do so at a risk. FULL SPEED AHEAD!
