Steve,

I have been talking with people around here about trials in life quite a bit recently. And some of the things that we have talked about may apply to your situation. I hope I am not out of line by sharing these thoughts here, but here is my take on it for what it is worth:

Look at what you are doing with your life... You are educating yourself and others in the scriptures. You are helping people to worship. This is a good thing. But look at the scriptures -- Everyone who teaches the gospels goes through trials. Trials are not always simply persecution. Just as often, if not more, they are things like the problems you are running into: Simple problems of daily life that distract you from the religious side of your life.

So instead of letting these trials get you down, think of them as spiritual hurdles. These things have been placed in your life to get in the way of your learning, teaching, and living. So take them on not as problems of your daily life, but as spiritual challenges. Don't let problems of this world get in the way of your spiritual path, because your happiness, as well as the help you give others is worth too much to let these problems bring you down and deplete your energy.
I honestly believe that if you go at these problems with prayer, and a mindset focusing on overcoming these obstacles so that you may put more energy into school, church, and your own well-being, that you will not only find the problems are easier to deal with, but easy solutions just might pop up on their own.

With Love,
Bob - the Alien
