: : The whole song was written that way, he's talking about a phone number he found on a Men's restroom wall. It's not that old, just like 20 years...
: I actually remembered the song. I just wasn't thinking. I was conceived AND born in 1967. I am from the 60's. It's strange now. I remember when everyone used to sit around and talk about Sid & Marty Krofft, and everone knew the topic and had these elaborate lists of show titles they had committed to memory. Or maybe we'd sit around digging up 80's one hit wonders. Now, sometimes I'll be in a group where these scenarios are impossible. I have to remind myself that I was a witness to the birth of Nikelodeon, but I'm was not raised on it. I was raised on The Muppet Show. The soundtrack of my childhood was not Pink, or even the Back Street Boys. For me it was K.C. and the Sunshine Band and Peaches & Herbs.
: Later, Bill
Well, my mom liked Eddie Arnold, Andy Williams and Frank Sinatra, etc. My dad liked old westerns. I started rebelling in elementary school by buying the Beatles' Hard Day's Night and Help. I remember Paul Revere and the Raiders, Herman's Hermits, The Association, the Monkees, the Animals, and the Byrds, to name a few. By high school I was into Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin (1st & 2nd albums), Jethro Tull (PRE-Aqualung), Spirit (PRE-Sardonicus), Cream, Hendrix, Joplin, the James Gang, CSNY, Cat Stevens, and the Moody Blues (On the Threshold of a Dream). I was out of high school when I got into Pink Floyd, Traffic, Doobies, Steely Dan, etc. etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum. Just to name a few...
So that's how stinkin' old I am.
