: First, thanks to Jason for putting sermon notes on the board. I understand that sometimes you just donīt get to it for whatever reason, and I personally would not want to be the one to put the pressure on you and make you feel burnt out. Iīm just thrilled when you do it, because itīs FOOD!
:
: I love you guys! I totally, completely enjoy the groovy intellectual things, like the Thor and the rainbow and the Bessemer converter.
: So, I need help. How many of us have walked into yur livingrooms and said, "I never noticed that before..." or gotten into our cars and had to go back into the house 3 more times before we could drive away--unless of course, like my grandmother, we drove away 3 times? Or got lost on the way to work, more than once? In a week?
: Thought so, just me.
First of all-- Wrong! I bet I can beat you any day in the Dingbat/Ditz Playoffs!
Forgetful is my middle name, and I can tell you there have been at least 5 occasions recently where I had to drive home to get something I forgot.
My friends and family wonder why I have voicemail because I forget to check it for DAYS.
I have always been a scatterbrain. Yep.
I pray about it ALL THE TIME, it is the one thing that holds me back in every area of my life. My inconsistancy is a constant source of irritation to me and my loved ones and yes, my clients.
First of all, I haven't lost hope that someday I will wake up and my brain will be functioning within normal parameters.
Second: I have to give Bryon credit, time with the Lord just helps a great deal, I notice things get worse when I dont' give regular time to Him.
Third: Yes I too have learned to deal. I have tried different methods of organization. Having one place for certain things like KEYS or my PURSE or money is very , very good. This has been a long struggle for me to get organized, and I still will let bills pile up and have to sit down for a couple of hours and sort old mail and crap that I didn't get to.
Fourth: Get your priorities straight. I can't stress this enough, I can't tell you how many times I have saved coupons or advertisements and then find them years later long after they have expired. What's the point, Obviously I am not organized enough to use them on time. I just throw most of it away unless I know I am going to use it fast then it goes in my bag or wallet. I have a mail sorter now and as soon as I get a bill I put it in the slot that corresponds with the due date on the bill. This is new to me and I am working on opening my mail immediatly and putting bills in the sorter immediatly, you know. Priorities. Important appointments go in my date book that I always try to carry with me. REALLY important things that will make my life hell if I miss, actually get stuck on the front door so I have to see them before I leave the house. My door is metal so I can do that with magnets!
So I don't know about Nancy Drew she must have been more structureed than me, but structure helps. Us artistic types don't like it but I guess it's a neccesary evil. Don't lose hope! You have taken the first step by admitting you are powerless over your own brain!
I'll bet you can think of tons of times when God bailed you out when you got yourself into trouble from something like, oh, let's say--a forgotten traffic ticket? Yeah, I wouldn't personally know about that kind of thing, um ok, I do. But you know if you don't pay those on time they suspend your license. Yeah, that means, well... let's just say I was saved by grace at the Drivers License Bureau.
My point is, don't sweat it, God knows your a scatterbrain and he's watching over you. k?
Welcome to the club.
What club?
Shoot I can't remember now.
Love you!
