UGH!!!!!!!!! closed minded people make me sick!!!!!!!!!!
okay you guys. i need to know i'm not an imbicile. someone on one of the livejournal communities i belong to, and i don't actually know this person, sent me an instant message tonight asking me about homosexuality. now, maybe its just me and the whole i'm just becoming a christian thing, but i don't get it. i have nothing against gays, that's their business. i know that's an issue for many, many christians out there. anywho. this person really got under my skin. here's the IM, and i would really like to hear others' opinions on this. i couldn't carry on any longer with him because its already 2:30 and i'm pooped. and pooped and annoyed don't make for very good arguments. i'm sorry, its kinda long, but i think you'll really get a kick out of the last few lines.

gelfling06: that's funny you should ask. i happened to catch a late nightline last night and they were debating issues of homosexuality.

gelfling06: i personally don't have a problem with it. i've only been a christian for barely a year so i'm not completely bible litterate.........

gelfling06: um..... dunno. i'm not always easily swayed. it took me 23 years to come to christianity because i have a very open mind about things that many christians don't

gelfling06: i'm sorry, but i have a hard time believing that God being as accepting and forgiving as he is, would not allow gays into heaven.

SilenceoftheHams: God is love, yes, but God also destroyed Sodom and Gemorra for being evil in that way
SilenceoftheHams: God isn't all about good things...God is the same God who cause the flood to wipe out all of mankind with the exception of Noah
gelfling06: then what about grace. what about jesus dying on the cross for our sins. what about his blood washing us clean. does that not apply for everyone?

gelfling06: well. i could get into this, but i'm not because its two in the morning and i need to get some sleep. i'm sorry, but i'm still not convinced otherwise, and i know plenty of other people who would side with me on this one. but, we'll save that for another night. right now my bed is beckoning me
