I am going to have to respectfully disagree w/Erinica. Baby talk is one of the simplist form of communication one could ever hope for in the basic necessity of life. As a baby, the development happens over time and thus so does the speech pattern. Speaking baby talk can really help in simplifying deep and contrite concepts to young babies which will in the end help them in establishing a good and healthy home life.

Boy, talk about abuse of the English language, Erinica, you're going to have to clean up your spelling! The misspellings in your statement, no offense please, alone butchers our language in ways deeper than any word a language could produce. Please, clean that up and then come talk to me about baby talk.

My last point is the positive and loving affect baby talk has on a baby. How they do smile and gush! They understand that high-pitched tone as something of a soothing nature almost like literally holding and coddling the baby close to your body. A harsh, adult, or even using words too difficult for babies just goes right over their head and can even produce a furrowed brow. I know because I have seen it. Who wants to start out in life w/a crinkle in the brow? It ruins the forehead smoothness for sure.
