: : Just wondered if you had seen this. It might not be up your alley, but I was reminded of this by your posts. Anyway, I have enjoyed this string immensely.
: : Thanks, Bill
: I did. I was telling people about it at work yesterday. That is the perfect example of people based government and sustainable economics as opposed to the propagandized, special-interest, sedate-through-wealth culture we have here. I was so changed by the realization that life outside the US did contain civilization as we knew it, and that life outside the US/THEM national framework was a beautiful thing. People can create effective government, and healthy society, it just sickens me when people try to defend this society as the best of all possible worlds.
I resemble that remark!
Seriously, I agree that there are very successful societies in the world beside the US. But, you do realize that the apathetic nature of the US citizens thamselves are mostly to blame for the corrupt state our country is in. If the people would take their government seriously and be involved in the democratic process you have to admit we would have the most ideal of societies. No?
What sickens ME is the fact that people complain about the way things are and then don't even vote, or if they do it's 'eeny, meeny, miny, mo'.
I have to say that I have always thought that living in a small self-sustaining village would be best for everyone overall health and welfare. In my case it would be exeedingly beneficial!
I don't want to start anything but I do appreciate what the founding fathers were trying create, and I also appreciate thefact that nobody has bombed my house because I am a Christian, too.
